Abstract

With the fast development and widespread comply of wireless sensor networks (WSN) security is one of the prominent issues. WSNs have been used in many applications including environmental monitoring, wireless mobile networks for health monitoring, traffic monitoring, real space monitoring and in military surveillance. Due to the limitations of sensor nodes, traditional key management schemes have some problem’s, therefore efficient key management schemes are required for WSNs for secure communication. The main aim of key management scheme is to establish keys between the communicating nodes to exchange data in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS). Key management schemes are classified into static and dynamic. In static schemes, there are many challenges. Among the communication entities, there is no handshaking in static key management and other approach is distributed pair wise keys which are used for an exchange of data between communication nodes. To overcome those challenges dynamic key management schemes have been introduced. Security services such as authentication, integrity, non-repudiation, and confidentiality are required for message security. Thus, key management is one of the fundamental issues in CPS security.
