Abstract

With the development of wind power, the impact of wind farms (WFs) on power systems is growing. In this paper, a dynamic equivalent modeling (DEM) method is proposed for wind farms with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), to improve the accuracy of the WF model. First, grouping indicators which can distinguish different operating states of the DFIGs are researched. Second, WF with DFIG is divided into some groups with k-means algorithm. Meanwhile, the parameter calculation method of the equivalent model is given. Finally, the DEM method proposed in this paper is verified by comparing the simulation results of single-machine equivalent model (SEM) and detailed model (DM).
