Abstract

The dispersed cuboid object and cylinder vibratory hopper as the object of study, we designed a vibratory hopper contain an orientation mechanism in the 3D modeling software Pro/E which is then imported into the dynamic simulation software MSC.ADAMS, and established the dynamic simulation model of the multi-body system consists of objects and vibratory hopper, representing the contact and impact between objects and between the object and hopper with the coefficient of restitution model. Afterwards, a numerical simulation of the state of motion of objects in the vibratory is proceeded to find the effect of the orientation mechanism to the motion of objects in the vibratory, which provides scientific basis for the improvement and optimization of orientation mechanism and the design of characteristics of hopper vibration. The results of this study shows that dynamic Virtual Prototype Technology applied in the design of orientation mechanism for dispersed object can shorten design circle and lower research cost immensely.
