Abstract

The analysis of the structure and dynamics of liquid and glassy selenium points to the existence of an intermediate length-scale which can account for most of the properties of liquid and amorphous selenium. From this coarse-grained description the method of Langevin dynamics is applied to increase the spatial and time windows. This approach permits the properties of the disordered phases of selenium to be studied over wider scales.
