Abstract

This work highlights the problems concerned with an initially stressed viscoelastic microbeam with small-scale thickness which is subjected to an ultra-fast laser heating and exposed to a sinusoidal varying heat. The analytical solutions for the deflection and temperature are obtained in terms of Laplace transform method. To indicate the effects of viscous damping coefficient, the time width of thermal vibration, the initial stress and the laser pulse duration parameters on the vibration characteristics of Euler–Bernoulli microbeams have been considered, and finally, numerical results are displayed. The results in here basically indicated that the viscoelasticity and initial stress effect of materials can be gradually applied to the design of the micro-electromechanical systems.
