Abstract

The adopted approach is based on Fuzzy logic control (FLC) technique as a fuzzy inference algorithm. The work is focused on placement and sizing of capacitors to maintain voltage profile and power savings with precise and effective control of reactive power. The FLC technique is very useful to improve power quality with power saving. FLC is used for finding optimal location & size of capacitors. This Scheme is tested on IEEE 14 bus system and data is analyzed for voltage profile with active and reactive power quality and savings. Evaluation of performance for load flow on base load, active power losses and a minimum voltage is considered. The system bus is compensated with reactive power injection equivalent to self reactive load, then checked Power loss Index, Voltage profile, Active power and Reactive power losses for each case. Application of scheme under proposed technic is showing significant result and demonstrate improved performance. The most suitable size and location of the capacitor is achieved under the proposed scheme for maintaining system power quality with voltage profile.
