Abstract

A Lotka–Volterra predator–prey model incorporating a prey refuge and mutual interference of predator species is considered in this paper. By developing some new analysis technique, we are able to show that the two boundary equilibria are both saddle points and the interior equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. Those results implicate that in the Lotka–Volterra predator–prey system, the stabilizing effect of the mutual interference of predator species dominate the destabilizing effects of prey refuge.
