Abstract

The switching behaviors of a long Josephson junction are numerically analyzed using the distributed circuit model. The distributions of current density and magnetic field in the junction are calculated for supercurrent states, and they are used as the initial states for the switching calculation. Two types of the switching are simulated; one is the switching from a supercurrent state to a voltage state, and the other is the switching between two different vortex modes.
