Abstract

The stationary absorption and dispersion of a two-level atom ensemble with homogeneous broadening in multimode squeezed light is discussed. The results show that corresponding to different noise-spectral densities, absorption lineshape of the atom exhibits sub- or super-natural linewidth phenomenon. The dispersion depends on the squeezing direction and the coherent excitation direction of the light field. When they are not along a line, the dispersion zero-point show a shift to the transition frequency of the atom.
