Abstract

The dynamic aspects of the mechanical properties of multilayered thin films are reviewed. Such aspects can affect the measurement of ostensibly “static” properties such as Young’s modulus, and can also result in novel “dynamic” properties such as an enhanced internal friction and increased fatigue resistance.
