Abstract
The effect of single-ion anisotropy on the phase states and dynamic properties of a non-Heisenberg magnet with S = 1 is investigated in the mean field approximation. It is shown that, in contrast to the isotropic model, the inclusion of single-ion anisotropy changes the type of phase transitions between the dipole and nematic phases and leads to the disappearance of the SU(3) point. The phase diagram is constructed.
