Abstract

Due to the simple algorithm and strong independence, the dead reckoning system is widely used in land vehicle navigation systems. This paper proposes a high precision initial alignment method on the basis of the dead reckoning system. The initial position and heading information of the load vehicle can be accurately calculated by electro-optical detection system, and after the vehicle drives fast for some distance, the installation angle of sensitive axis between the electro-optical detection system and dead reckoning system can be estimated through the secondary optical positioning. The simulation result reveals that the accuracy of initial positioning is less than 0.1m, and the heading alignment accuracy is less than 20 when the length of baseline is 2km.
