Abstract

DSSC (Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells) is fabricated with extracted anthocyanin natural dye using sandwich structure. The fruit extraction was used as a dye sensitizer on this Dye-sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). Dragon fruit, grape fruit and red cabbage have been extracted in mixture of methanol, acetic acid and aquades in the ratio of 50:8:42. The layer of TiO 2 is deposited using the doctor blade method. The observed absorption spectra of the wavelength of natural dye was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The working dimension of DSSC is 2x2 cm2. The measurement was performed using fixed illumination of 20000 Lux with variation of load resistance. From these tests, fill factor for DSSC from extracted dragon fruit, cabbage and grape were 41.63%, 37.88% and 41.19%, respectively. The second DSSC test was conducted on direct sunlight on Air Mass 1.3. According to the fill factor analysis of each DSSC, the efficiency of dragon fruit DSSC is 0.0153%, the red cabbage is 0.00685%, and the grape DSSC is 0.0113%. The other measurement is conducted using light illuminance as a variable to observe the voltage and current produced by each DSSC. As a result, the value of the voltage and current of the three DSSCs increases with the increasing light illuminance.
