Abstract

A set of partial differential equations describing the motion of a dusty fluid in porous media are developed. The governing equations are derived using intrinsic volume averaging and are based on Saffman's dusty gas model. The effect of the porous microstructure on the flowing mixture is analyzed via the concept of representative unit cell (RUC), and distinction is made between flow in consolidated and granular porous media.
