Abstract

Dust samples of an alumina plant and a cement plant are compared in respect of their precipitation behaviour in electrostatic filter systems. The analysis of physical, chemical and mineralogical data of precipitation behaviour of single component raw material feeding the alumina plant is strongly related to the BET-surface area. The corresponding dust resistivity measurements led to no result. The multi-component cement raw mixture exhibits precipitation properties in good agreement with dust resistivity measurements and mineralogical phase analysis.
