Abstract

Maintenance of comfortable microclimate in premises is important throughout the year. During the building cooling period, microclimate is maintained by means of air conditioning and sunlight protection systems. Overheating of premises requiring their cooling is caused by growing of average daily ambient temperature above 21 °C and by heating of premises by direct sunlight. Duration of application of microclimate control systems may be calculated using daily or hourly methods. This work proposes the method of determination of building cooling duration during the cooling period based on diurnal ambient air temperature range and the method of determination of sunlight protection efficiency during this period.
