Abstract

Problems related to the fundamentals of durability design and repair design of concrete structures are discussed with reference to damage caused by chloride corrosion and alkali–aggregate reaction. A unified approach is presented, based on the mechanism of deterioration, which is believed to offer potential for further practical development.
