Abstract

Abstract: This case involves a 4-month-old boy who underwent resection of congenital colonic and terminal ileal duplication cysts along with decompression of a duodenal duplication cyst using a Roux-en-Y cystojejunostomy and circumcision. The patient presented 2 months later with an increasing amount and frequency of melena, which raised the suspicion for the presence of gastrointestinal bleeding from a possible gastric duplication cyst(s). A Tc-99m pertechnetate study localized ectopic gastric mucosa in the surgically decompressed duodenal cyst, which subsequently was found to be the source of the bleed.
