Abstract
Approximate analytical solutions of the spin-zero version of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau (DKP) equation are ob- tained via an elegant ansatz after successive transformations for the ground state. As the DKP equation under a scalar term appears as a differential equation that is more complicated than that of the Klein-Gordon equation, the solutions might open new insights to the corresponding physics.
