Abstract

We report on the formation of fine-grained Ti–O-based composites with yield strength of above 2100MPa and ultrahigh compressive specific strength of 542.0MPacm3/g and distinct ductility of ∼5.8% by spark plasma sintering. This provides a promising method for fabricating lightweight composites with excellent mechanical property by powder metallurgy.
