Abstract

The main goal of this work is to examine the viscoelastic fluid flow velocity and skin friction coefficient through the Duan–Rach modified Adomian decomposition technique. The effects of various physical parameters of interest such as Reynolds number ($$ \text{Re} $$), channel half-angle ($$ \alpha $$) and Weissenberg number ($$ W_{i} $$) are investigated. Results revealed that the reversal flow is entirely excluded with the increase in Weissenberg number $$ W_{i} $$ for both convergent and divergent flows. Afterward, the earned analytical data are compared with numerical data and those available in the literature. From this comparison, results indicate a great agreement and therefore support the Duan–Rach approach’s applicability, validity and higher accuracy.
