Abstract

The present paper applies the duality theory of Fenchel and Rockafellar to problems of optimal control with a linear operator-type equation and with a linear unbounded operator. If the linear operator is everywhere densely defined and closed, we can prove duality theorems and conditions for optimality. The results are applied to optimal control problems for systems with concentrated and distributed parameters.
