Abstract
The phase diagrams of abelian lattice gauge theories in four dimensions, and spin models in two dimensions, in the presence of a θ-parameter, are constructed using duality arguments. A rich structure involving an infinite number of phases emerges, together with a mechanism for spontaneous CP violation at θ = π.
