Abstract

We have described the combination of the slot-loaded and the short-circuited size-reduction techniques in the design of a compact dual-band patch antenna. By controlling the short-plane width, the frequency f/sub 10/ can be reduced to about 0.29 times that of the regular half-wavelength with the same patch size, and the frequency ratio (f/sub 30//f/sub 10/) can be varied in the range of /spl sim/1.6-2.2.
