Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a dual-, wide-band dual-polarized dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with high isolation and low cross-polarization. The proposed antenna has realized dual-polarize by applying slot and balanced strip feed, which achieved high port isolation of −52 dB and low cross-polarization in operating band. The fundamental mode TE111 and higher order mode TE113 have been excited for dual-band application. TE112+δ (δ < 1) mode, a new kind of mode never be mentioned, and strip mode are merged with previous modes for wideband application, which achieved 23.9% (1.73–2.20 GHz), 6.1% (2.53–2.69 GHz) at lower and upper band, respectively, for port 1 and 12.4% (1.81–2.05 GHz) 16.4% (2.35–2.77 GHz) for port 2. The S-parameters, symmetric radiation pattern, antenna gains of the designs are studied. It's suitable for this application of base station antenna.
