Abstract

This article presents a dual wideband microstrip patch antenna works for IEEE 802.11 WLAN (5.15 to 5.25 GHz and 5.72 to 5.85 GHz), C band uplink frequency (5.925–6.425 GHz), ITU band (8 to 8.5 GHz) and X band (8 to 12 GHz) applications. The antenna has wide fractional bandwidths of about 37.87% in the lower band (5 GHz to 7.4 GHz) and 39 % in the upper band (8.35 to 12.4 GHz). The simulated peak gain of the proposed antenna is found around 3 dB at 8.7 GHz. The antenna has good radiation pattern (E and H plane) at lower and upper bands.
