Abstract
Here, we propose a dual linear polarized slot array antenna with monopulse corporate-feed waveguides for rectangular-coordinate orbital multiplexing transmission systems in the near-field region. In this article, we design and fabricate an eight-multiplexing $16\times16$ slot array antenna with uniform excitation in the 60 GHz band. We designed corporate-feed waveguides, the $2 \times 2$ slot subarray, and the 2-D monopulse circuits, and analyzed the $16\times16$ slot monopulse array combined in the radiating elements, the corporate-feed circuits, and the 2-D monopulse circuits. We fabricated two identical antennas by plate-laminated diffusion bonding techniques. The 6.8% bandwidth (59.8–64.0 GHz) of VSWR below 2.0, and the isolation of 22 dB or more between the two input ports are achieved. The transmitted power normalized by the input power between the two antennas was measured, and the average transmitted power between desired same modes is about −5 dB, with an average interference to the other seven modes of about −25 dB for a distance of 200 mm.
