Abstract

We report the infrequent diagnosis of dual periarticular pathology comprising a distal tibial epiphyseal osteoid osteoma associated with ipsilateral medial talar dome osteochondritis dissecans in a paediatric patient. This report describes a safe and reliable technique using pre and perioperative image-guided localisation of an osteoid osteoma and the subsequent percutaneous surgical excision of the lesion avoiding iatrogenic damage to the associated growth plate and articular surface using a combination of fluoroscopy and MRI assisted surgery and ankle arthroscopy.
