Abstract

In order to reduce the torque ripple of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with model predictive control (MPC), a PMSM dual model predictive torque control (Dual-MPC) strategy within two steps is proposed in this paper. First, the proposed control strategy extends the basic voltage vector to the generalized double vectors to suppress the torque ripple compared with conventional duty cycle MPC strategy. Then, the proposed Dual-MPC consists of two model predictive torque control processes, which is selecting two basic voltage vectors in each control period and then calculating their duty time. To validate the proposed Dual-MPC strategy, simulation and experiment are carried on. With the results of torque ripple and flux circle, the effectiveness of the proposed Dual-MPC is confirmed.
