Abstract

We construct a dual resonance model to describe the reaction ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}p$ and then compare the model with experiment at 3.92 GeV/c, using the recently devised prism-plot variables as well as the more conventional phase-space variables. Prism-plot variables provide a more complete phase-space description of the process. We find that the dual resonance model is not peripheral enough to fit the data. However, the distinctive tube structure of the data in the prism plot is reproduced by the model.
