Abstract

Abstract A fuzzy neighbourhood space (fns) is determined by means of a system of fuzzy neighbourhoods of the ordinary points of that space. We provide a general method for constructing bases for all fuzzy neighbourhood systems, in a natural way, from the fuzzy topologies of a special type of fuzzy topological spaces (fts's), which we call the fuzzy neighbourhood-base spaces. This construction is shown to be functorial. Of those new fts's, the full subcategory of dual fuzzy neighbourhood spaces is shown to be isomorphic to the category of fns's, and a fns will coincide with its dual fts iff it is topologically generated.
