Abstract

Case report:A 31-year-old male admitted for extensive burns developed candidemia while an inpatient. Despite intravenous anidulafungin and line exchange, he remained febrile. Multiple sets of blood cultures were repeated, and one culture bottle flagged positive after three days. Gram stain revealed the presence of blastoconidia and pseudohyphae. The initial impression was a failure of candidemia clearance.
