Abstract

A newly crystalline monoclinic tetrakis (µ4-4, 4′-Bipyridyl)- Osmium(IV) -MOFs was successfully synthesized for the first time via laser assist hydrothermal procedures in 22min. The novel Os(IV)-MOF was well characterized via micro-elemental analysis, X-ray, XPS-spectra, IR, UV/Vis., TGA-thermal analysis, 1H-NMR, field emission - Scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM), and 3D-atomic force microscope (3D-AFM). Furthermore, specific surface area BET found ∼ 889 m2 g−1. Os(IV)-MOFs successfully exhibited, a dual functionality to serve efficiently as hydrogen storage and anticancer agent. The synthesized Os(IV)-MOFs gave a promising results as anticancer agent as well as hydrogen storage material with maximum H2-uptake of 5.15 wt% at temperature of 170°C- and pressure of∼14bar.
