Abstract

This paper designs a dual-band and dual-polarization Fabry-Perot resonant cavity antenna. In this chapter, the dual frequency Fabry-Perot resonant cavity antenna is realized through using double-layer FSS, and the proposed method is combined with This chapter proposes a method to realize a dual-band dual-polarized Fabry-Perot cavity antenna through combining with a dual-polarized feed source. Part of the reflective surface consists of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$8\times 8$</tex> double-layer FSS cells which is placed at a distance h from the feeder. The Fabry-Perot cavity antenna designed in this paper works in two operating bands of 5.7GHz and 10.5GHz, with the total dimensions of the antenna being about <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2.4\lambda_{0}\times 2.4\lambda_{0}\times 0.52\lambda_{0}$</tex> . The maximum gain of the Fabry-Perot cavity antenna is <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$16. 0\mathbf{dB}$</tex> and 14.8dB, while the 3dB gain bandwidth is 5.54% and 10.69%.
