Abstract

Dual-energy CT is proving to be a useful tool in medical imaging, with increasing studies indicating a viable future in cardiac investigations. The technology offers the opportunity to begin to address several limitations that have historically been associated with cardiac CT. In this review, we summarize the most common applications for dual-energy cardiac CT to date and attempt to highlight potential future directions.
