Abstract

Currently, photovoltaic (PV) grid inverters include two sorts, isolated type and non-isolated type. One of the main problems of the isolated PV grid inverters is common mode (CM) noise. This paper introduces a dual Buck inverter for the purpose of the suppression of CM current in PV grid inverter. Compared with traditional full bridge inverter, this topology has simple structure, high efficiency, high reliability and low CM current. This paper analyzes its CM characteristics under both normal conditions and dead band conditions. The simulation and experiments are presented to verify the theoretical results. In addition, this paper implements Gallium Nitride (GaN) device TPH3006PS to improves the switching frequency and reduce the volume of inductor. Finally, this paper gives the loss modeling of dual buck inverter, which matches very well between the experiment and the theoretical analysis.
