Abstract
The rapid expansion in the use of wireless networks in both commercial and personal communication systems over the last decades has led to the increased demand for compact and high data rate transmission devices. In additional, the intensive development in wireless communications has triggered the need of new communication standards such as the WIFI, Bluetooth and Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) frequency ranges. Hence, tremendous research work was devoted to build different wireless communication systems and to be used for different military, commercial and even personal applications. Recently, it becomes challenging to integrate the developed technologies on clothing to achieve what so-called “body-worn communication systems”. Communications on the human body is a relatively unexplored commodity for both personal and mobile communications community. The developed world of the latter systems' market is becoming saturated and much has been invested while body-worn wireless communications are still in the early stages of their development. Such systems are of interest for military, special services, commercial, personal and even biomedical applications.
