Abstract

A novel dual-band reflectarray comprising crossed-dipole elements and dual-band frequency selective surface (FSS) printed on both sides of a dielectric substrate is presented. The dual-band FSS function is used as a reflective ground plane. Compared to the dual-band reflectarray backed by a solid ground, the dual-band FSS-backed reflectarray could minimize the coupling between the cell elements of the two bands. A prototype of prime-focus dual-band reflectarray has been fabricated and measured. All simulation and measurement results demonstrate that the FSS-backed reflectarray structure decreased the mutual coupling and has a good performance.
