Abstract

The prime focus of the article is to develop an antenna for L band and C band applications. The ball shaped antenna functioning at two different bands of frequencies is recommended for different wireless applications. The proposed antenna is resonating at 1.2GHz and 6.6 GHz. The substrate used for this antenna design is FR4 material with dielectric constant 4.4. Two designs have been proposed in this work. In the first design, a simple ball shaped antenna is designed and important factors like return loss, directivity, gain and efficiency are analyzed. In order to improve the S11 value, a plus shaped symbol slot is made in the middle of the patch in the second proposed antenna design. There is an improvement in return loss and one notch band is observed in WiMAX range. ADS software is used to design the antenna. The suggested design is applicable for C-Band and L-Band Applications. The proposed antenna design is greatly suitable for military and satellite applications.
