Abstract
An efficient sketch of a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna focused on 2.4 GHz (2.1-2.85 GHz) and 5.5 GHz (5.1-5.9 GHz) WLAN frequency ranges is proposed for dual-band applications. From top view, two monopole antennas are located beside each other. For each of the monopoles, the 50Ω microstrip line -fed radiating patch is formed by jointing three L-shaped elements to each other. On backside, a rectangular-shaped ground is included. Each monopole antenna provides dual band functionality at 2.5/5.5 GHz WLAN frequency bands. For the isolation enhancement purpose, a parasitic rectangular structure is suitably included between the two constituent antennas on backside of the MIMO antenna. The proposed MIMO antenna total area equals 25×45 mm 2 . 10dB impedance bandwidth of 2.4 and 5.5 GHz validated By having a simple design, good diversity performance, group delay, radiation pattern, gain and total active reflection coefficient, the proposed antenna is suitable for MIMO applications. Detailed analysis on the antenna performance is surveyed in detailed.
