Abstract

This paper presents the design of a multiband microstrip patch antenna based on complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). Multiple bands are achieved by etching CSRR in the ground plane of a conventional rectangular patch antenna, achieving a miniaturization of the conventional antenna. In this paper, results of the microstrip antenna with two, four and six CSRR inclusions have been studied and compared. The multiband antenna design has been made feasible due to the quasi-static resonance property of the complementary split ring resonators.
