Abstract

A redeployment project in a firm gives individuals whose course in life is marked by breakups at various levels (family life, professional career, ideology) an opportunity to participate in a professional training pro¬ gramme in the field of Human Resources (at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris). While putting losses and hopes in common, the former discourse on work is rapidly eclipsed by another discourse making all projects uniform. At a symbolic level, professional training becomes a «mourning of the past », in order to realize the reconstruction of identity. The so-called destruction/reconstruction method used by Human Resources training favours such an operation, which is potentially a source of personal destabilization.
