Abstract

Du Pont for some years has been engaged in offering various waste treatment or safety services of one sort or another—enough to generate current revenues of $100 million per year. Now the company has formalized its efforts by creating a new business, called Safety & Environmental Resources, that it expects will expand quickly beyond that level. I believe that in 10 years we can easily be at a billion-dollar level of revenue and diversified well beyond our already broad base of offerings, says George C. Tunis Jr., director of the new business unit. Tunis announced the formation of the new business last week in New York City during the 43rd Chemical Process Industries Exposition—the biennial Chem Show. The specific offerings of the business essentially fall into three categories—waste management, environmental remediation services, and safety and training services.
