Abstract
Lifetimes are computed for the 3p 53d and 3p 55s levels of Ar I, the 3p 54p and 3p 55s levels of K II and the 3p 54p, 3p 55s and 3p 54d levels of Ca III. Landé g factors are calculated for all these levels and also for the 3p 54s and 3p 53d levels of K II and Ca III. A least-squares adjustment of energy levels provides the expansion of wave functions in terms of the LS basis functions corresponding to a single configuration or two nearly-degenerate configurations. The radial transition integrals are computed by means of a parametrized central potential. In Ar I and K II, when the comparison is possible, the theoretical transition probabilities, lifetimes and g factors are generally in agreement with the experimental data. In Ca III no experimental data are available and therefore we cannot test the quality of our results.
