Abstract

For a batch fluidized bed dryer (BFBD), a mathematical model is presented. Based on this model the moisture content and temperature of solid particles and drying air are calculated by a numerical method. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the predicted results, an experimental setup is erected and some experimental data are obtained for drying of wheat in BFBD. Comparison of calculated data with experimental results shows a good agreement and so verifies the validity of the proposed model.
