Abstract

This article aims at fabrication of Al7075 metal matrix composites (MMCs) with 5 wt% of Gr particles with varying wt. % of nano TiO2 particles. The fabrications of MMCs were prepared by the method of stir casting technique. The influence of wear parameters and different wt. % of TiO2 particles in the MMCs on wear rate were concentrated. The response surface methodology (RSM) is used to design the experiments for the study of different wear parameters. The minimum wear rate is noticed at the lower load conditions with respect to different speed and sliding distance conditions. The wear rate was found to be minimum at 3–5 wt% TiO2 particles in the MMC.
