Abstract

Despite its own assertions to ADAW that it is moving in the right direction even with only an acting director (Regina LaBelle, who is esteemed for her public health, harm reduction, knowledge of federal affairs and diplomacy), the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) is under pressure from virtually all organizations in the field to have a permanent director. The following organizations are included as signatories in a May 26 letter, a copy of which was obtained by ADAW, calling on the White House to nominate someone — now. The ONDCP did not explain the delay despite repeated requests for an interpretation of this.
