Abstract

Objective To investigate the drug self-disposal skills training on the social function of patients with schizophreni a. Methods Sixty-five patients with schizophrenia were divided into study group (33 cases, drug self-disposal skills training plus antipsychorotropic drugs) and the control group (32 cases, usually psychological therapy plus anti-psychotropic drugs). Drug self-disposal skiills training was lasted for 8 weeks, the effect was assessed by social Functional Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS) . Results The treatnent for 8 weeks, drug self-disposal skills training and psychological treatment in general improved the patients'social function in improving the professional ability to wor k, marriage functions, their parents, to improve the social withdrawal, responsibility and planning aspects. Drug self-disposal skills training had more general good effect of psychological treatment ( P <0.01 ) . Conclusions Drug self-disposal skills training can improve patients' participation initiative, the activation of the motivational system to improve the effectiveness of behavior modification to the social interpersonal skills, to achieve the purpose of reconstruction of the social function.
