Abstract

Objective To analyze the drug resistance and genotypes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Datong area. Methods A total of 120 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolated in the Fourth People’s Hospital of Datong from January 2018 to January 2019 were collected. Drug sensitivity tests were carried out by proportional method. The genotypes of 120 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and spacer oligonucleotide typing (spoligotyping). Results Of the 120 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, 78 strains were sensitive to isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol and streptomycin, and 42 strains were resistant to these drugs, with the drug resistance rate of 35.00%. Eighty-three strains (69.17%) were Beijing genotype, 37 strains (30.83%) were non-Beijing genotype. Gender, age, affected lung, history of tuberculosis treatment, strain source, genotyping had no significant effect on drug resistance or genotype of tuberculosis strains (P>0.05). Conclusions Beijing genotype Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a major epidemic strain in Datong region, and no significant correlation is found between drug resistance and genotype of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Datong area. Key words: Mycobacterium tuberculosis; Drug resistance; Genotype; Analysis
