Drug patch testing and drug eruption

Abstract

Drug eruption refers to adverse reactions of skin and mucous membrane caused by the entry of drugs at normal doses into the human body through multiple ways.The pathophysiology of drug eruption is unclear.The manifestations of drug eruption are various.To learn the classification and pathogenesis of drug eruption is important for its diagnosis and identification of the culprit drug.The purpose of drug patch testing is to find drug allergens,and to provide patients with possible information about causative drugs.At present,the drug patch testing applied in clinical practice are relatively safe and convenient,which has offered an important basis for the diagnosis of drug eruption.There have been numerous studies on drug patch testing,but the results are varying and somewhat contradictory.
